Cancelation and Refund Policy - Courses
Notification requirements
Students must apply in writing to the ACQEI to notify of withdrawal and intent to request a refund, cancellation or deferral of an enrolment. All such requests should be addressed to the Studies Coordinator and any supporting documentation such as Medical Certificates must be certified. Refunds may be granted at the discretion of the ACQEI and students will be notified within 14 working days of the outcome of their request.
Course cancellation by the ACQEI
Where the ACQEI cancels a course the options for the student are as follows:
- transferring the student fee to another scheduled/advertised course within 12 months of the original date
Or if this is not possible due to course availability
- a pro-rata refund will be provided.
Enrolment cancellation by student
For full course enrolments where upfront payment has been received by the ACQEI
- written application for refund received within 1 month of enrolment date
– refund will be provided less an administration fee of $300.00
- written application for refund received after 1 month of enrolment date
– no refund will apply
For students that elected to pay per unit at time of initial enrolment
- where a student has enrolled and received a learning resource– no refund will apply, however students can elect to complete received units, submit for marking and receive a result
Deferrals
A deferral may be awarded on an individual basis. Please contact the Studies Coordinator to discuss your circumstances. Deferral requests must be submitted in writing and be accompanied by any relevant certified supporting documentation.
Special Consideration
A refund may be available to students who leave before finalising the course for compassionate or compelling reasons which may include death in the family of parents, siblings, spouse or children or declared natural disaster affecting the student’s place of residence. In these cases, fees may be refunded on a pro-rata basis less $300.00 administration fee. All applications will be treated in strict confidence on a case by case basis and must be accompanied by all relevant certified supporting documentation.
