ACQI appoints new CEO

The Board of Aged Care Queensland Incorporated has appointed Mr Nick Ryan as the new ACQI Chief Executive Officer. Mr Ryan has 12 years experience at the Senior Executive Service level in the Queensland Government working across a number of agencies in policy, corporate and regional service delivery roles, especially in human services.

Mr Ryan, who left the Department of Communities in August 2010, was the Executive Director negotiating the transfer to the Australian Government of aged care (especially HACC) as part of the National Health and Hospitals Network Agreement.

Mr Ryan has extensive experience in stakeholder representation and engagement strategies, especially across regional Queensland. He was the Executive Director who designed and implemented the Ministerial Regional Community Forum process for which he received the Premier’s Award for Excellence in Public Sector Management in 2002.

The Board also recognises the continuing good work of the ACQI team under the interim leadership of Mr Barry Ashcroft Deputy CEO and General Manager Member Services since the departure of Mr Anton Kardash at the end of September 2010.

Nick Ryan will commence with ACQI on 22 November 2010.
