Ross Smith

Ross has a long and awarded career in the health and aged care industries. During the past 14 years, Ross has held the position of CEO of RSL Care in Queensland and New South Wales. Prior to this, he has held senior management and finance roles within a range of government, community and industry organisations and their boards.

With a strong background in policy and governance, Ross has been involved in many industry-leading initiatives, including the development of the Health and Community Care (HACC) program in Queensland.

He has held positions in the Queensland branch of the Australian College of Health Services Executive (ACHSA), including serving as President of the ACHSA National Branch, and currently serves as the Deputy President of Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) and Chairperson of the National Community Care Consultative Committee.

He holds an appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Health at the University of New England and is a specialist member of various ex-services aged care consultative bodies.

In 2003, Ross was awarded the prestigious ACHSE Gold Medal for his innovation, effectiveness and entrepreneurial leadership in the field of aged care.
